    Excel to Slack: FAQ

Are my Excel formulas sent anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser; only the displayed values are converted. Nothing is uploaded.

    Which spreadsheet files are supported?

Excel .xlsx, .xlsm and .xls, OpenDocument .ods (LibreOffice) and Apple Numbers files.

How do I make a table in Slack?

Slack displays a table when you paste tab-separated values (TSV), the format spreadsheets put in the clipboard. Paste your data in TableToSlack, click “Copy for Slack” and paste in your message: Slack shows a proper table.

Why does my Markdown or CSV table look broken in Slack?

Slack does not support Markdown tables, and pasted CSV stays plain text. Only tab-separated content becomes a table. TableToSlack converts your table to that format.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. All the conversion happens in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the site has no analytics.
