Turn JSON into a Slack table

Sharing an API response or a JSON export in Slack is hard to read. Paste an array of objects, an array of arrays or JSON Lines: keys become columns and each item becomes a row.

Your table will appear here, just like in Slack.

    How to convert JSON for Slack

    1. Paste your JSON (array of objects, array of arrays or JSON Lines).
    2. Keys are merged into columns; nested values are kept as JSON.
    3. Click “Copy for Slack” and paste in Slack.

    Example

    [
      { "id": 1, "name": "Alice", "role": "Engineer", "active": true },
      { "id": 2, "name": "Bob", "role": "Designer", "active": false },
      { "id": 3, "name": "Chloé", "role": "PM", "active": true }
    ]

    JSON to Slack: FAQ

    What JSON structures are supported?

    Arrays of objects, arrays of arrays, objects of arrays (columns), maps of records, simple key/value objects and JSON Lines.

    What happens to nested objects?

    Nested objects and arrays are kept as compact JSON text in their cell.

    How do I make a table in Slack?

    Slack displays a table when you paste tab-separated values (TSV), the format spreadsheets put in the clipboard. Paste your data in TableToSlack, click “Copy for Slack” and paste in your message: Slack shows a proper table.

    Why does my Markdown or CSV table look broken in Slack?

    Slack does not support Markdown tables, and pasted CSV stays plain text. Only tab-separated content becomes a table. TableToSlack converts your table to that format.

    Is my data sent to a server?

    No. All the conversion happens in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the site has no analytics.
